Care Instructions
Many of our fabrics are hand-woven and naturally dyed. Therefore, they may have inconsistencies in their weave, even the occasional trace of dried plant matter or a loose thread. Slight degrees of variations of weave, colour and texture will occur from bolt to bolt. These are not flaws, but results of their creation (we fondly refer to them as 'perfect imperfections,' especially referring to the hand-woven silk).
To ensure your Andéol Moiré furnishing pieces retain their long-loved status, they should not be used outdoors and are best kept away from direct natural sunlight indoors as UV exposure fades fabrics over time.
We can, upon request, also offer additional post-printing certified treatments to selected fabrics and products to increase the longevity of their colourfastness and lightfastness (to prevent fading via sun damage from UVA and UVB rays including curtains and cushions, for example, intended to be used temporarily outdoors). In addition, we can also provide certified water-resistant treatments to protect our fabrics and goods from spills.
Our linens can be hand-washed in cold water or machine-washed separately in a wash bag and in cold water on delicate cycle. Do not tightly wring or spin them on high-speed as this can damage the fabric. We also recommend using mild, preferably eco-friendly (natural) detergent soap only. Please do not use any harsh detergents or bleach products. Linen loves a fabric softener; however this is optional. Do not bleach. Dry-cleaning is also an option. Our silk wearables can only be dry-cleaned. We do not recommend hand or machine washing them.
For best results with our linens, line-dry items flat in the shade after washing to avoid creasing and do not tumble dry them. The linen can be lightly ironed with care (on the reverse side of the front when applicable), and steaming is also an option. Ironing linen can be done while the fabric is still damp.
Fabrics should not be scrubbed. We recommend customers contact a specialist cleaner to treat difficult stains, or those hard to deal with accidental stains.
